Redbox is celebrating it's 3 billionth rental with a free movie or game

You get a free movie!  You get a free movie!  You get a free movie!  You get a free game!
Redbox announced on Tuesday that it recently passed a major milestone of renting 3 billionth disc, and to celebrate its declaring Aug. 1 free movie and game night in the U.S.

Someone who rented The Call at a Walgreens in Littleton, Colo. was the person to put the company over the top. Thanks to this person with a desire to watch a Halle Barry movie, everyone will get to enjoy free rentals on Aug. 1. To get the code you’ll need to stop by the company’s Facebook page on Thursday, and then you will get to enjoy a free one day rental of either a movie or a game. Sounds like a good deal to us.
It took Redbox seven years to hit 1 billion rentals, but only 18 months to hit 2 billion rentals in March 2012. This latest billion arrived in just 16 months, and some of that credit has to go to the face that 68 percent of the population of the U.S. lives within 5 minutes of one of the bright red kiosks now… which will be convenient when they become sentient and takeover. I, for one, welcome our new Redbox overlords.
