The Simpsons to air a special LEGO episode

Can't afford the rather hefty price tag for the Simpsons LEGO house? Here's the next best thing - a Simpsons episode created entirely out of the plastic blocks.

'Brick Like Me' will be the 550th(!) episode of the invincible animated sitcom, and will focus on Homer as he tries to escape from a LEGO Simpsons universe before he becomes trapped in it forever. The episode will screen in the USA May 4.

20th Century Fox announced its partnership with LEGO back in January, and the Simpsons LEGO house hit stores February 1 for US$199.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Fox during the 25th anniversary year of The Simpsons," said Jill Wilfert, VP of licensing and entertainment at The LEGO Group at the time. "We know our fans will love the challenge of building the Simpsons' family home in great detail and the ability to collect quintessential characters in LEGO minifigure form will let them showcase their love of the show in a whole new way. We are also excited that The Simpsons will be created in LEGO form, truly bringing this partnership to life."

The Simpsons has, predictably, already been renewed by Fox for season 26, set to kick off in the latter half of this year.
