Apps of the Day: These 6 awesome paid iPhone games are free for a limited time

Source: HalfBrick Studios

Halfbrick is one of the most consistently great iOS game developers in the industry, so you’d be foolish to pass up on this limited time offer. As of this week, every Halfbrick game has gone temporarily free on the App Store, from the classic Fruit Ninja to the recently released Colossatron. The other free titles include Shrek crossover Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots, endless runner Monster Dash, the sea creature-tossing Fish Out Of Water and the bullet-riddled Age of Zombies.

This promotion also coincides with the release of the first game Halfbrick has ever published: Birzzle Fever, a match-three with cute, exploding birds. All of these games are available on iPad as well, most as universal apps, so you can decide which iOS device best suits each game.

Halfbrick’s games started adopting free-to-play mechanics long ago, eventually resulting in the permanent conversion of Jetpack Joyride into a free download and the completely free release of Band Stars, but now you can give the studio’s entire portfolio a try if you missed out on any of these stellar titles over the past few years. If you’ve never played a Halfbrick game before (other than Fruit Ninja), I highly recommend starting with Fish Out Of Water and Monster Dash, both mainstays on my own iPhone.
