Office 2016 for Windows now available for download

We all knew it was coming but now it’s official: Office 2016 for Windows is now officially available for all. Microsoft said this suite was specifically built for teamwork, and you’ll find that’s true throughout all of the applications.

There are features like Office 365 Groups, Office 365 Planner, Skype Meetings and, of course, the option to work on documents like PowerPoint, Excel, Word and more all in real-time. In Word 2016 and OneNote, this is called “co-authoring” and you’ll see text entered in real-time and an ability to chat with anyone who you’ve shared the document with.

Office 365 Planner, also part of Office 2016, allows you to work with other members of your team and schedule specific tasks. As team members begin working on projects, they can move tasks from unassigned to in development or completed, and managers can see how far along each project is in real-time.

There are plenty of other features, like Smart Lookup in PowerPoint and brand new charts in Excel. Or check out Microsoft Office Sway, a unique way to send animated reports, stories, presentations or newsletters. It really feels like the entire suite was built from the ground up, and we’ve enjoyed using it for the past week or so on a Surface 3.

Head to Microsoft’s site and download Office 2016 for Windows now.
