Apple Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad 2 unveiled

Less batteries are needed around the house

Apple refreshed its iMac family of computers on Tuesday and used that opportunity to also introduce a few new accessories, including the Magic Mouse 2, the Magic Keyboard and the Magic Trackpad 2.

The new Magic Keyboard now features a rechargeable battery, finally eliminating the need to keep a few batteries stashed in your desk. Apple says the battery life should now last about a month between charges, and noted that it improved the scissor mechanism behind each key for optimized key travel and more comfortable typing.

The Magic Mouse 2 also features a rechargeable battery. Apple says it focused on redesigning the bottom of the mouse so that it’s less resistant against your desk, making for a more accurate experience. The Magic Trackpad 2 delivers a Force Touch experience to the desktop, a feature that has already been available on the MacBook and new MacBook Pro with Retina display. The glass surface of the Magic Trackpad 2 is also 29 percent larger than on its predecessor.

The new accessories are available from Apple now. The Magic Keyboard is priced at $99, the Magic Mouse 2 will cost you $79 and the Magic Trackpad 2 will set you back $129.
