Best Buy drops price of Apple Watch starting at $249
Hmmmmmmmmm....
With weeks to go before Christmas, Best Buy is offering Apple Watches for the cheapest price ever. The big box retailer has cut $100 off the price of every Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch model on its online store, meaning that you'll now be able to get a 38 millimeter Apple Watch Sport for only $249. Best Buy offered a similar deal during its Black Friday promotion last month, but while it offered $100 off the price of higher-end Apple Watches, it gave less of a discount on cheaper Apple Watch Sport models.
Best Buy's deal is the best available at the moment. Rival retailer Target is also giving Apple Watch buyers $100 back, but only in the form of a Target gift card, and while B&H has some deep discounts on various models of the wearable, its cheapest Apple Watch Sport is still priced at $299 — albeit it with a free $50 gift card. Meanwhile, Apple's own discounts on its wearable have been comparatively stingy. In October, the company offered $50 off the price of an Apple Watch — but only if bought at the same time as a new iPhone.
The price cuts make the Apple Watch a more appealing gift for the holiday season, but it might not be long before Apple replaces the wearable with a newer model. It's rumored that the company will show off the Apple Watch 2 at an event in March, at the same time it details a new 4-inch iPhone.
