Parents can call their kids down for dinner.
You read that right. Verizon got together with some capable Minecraft engineers and Minecraft YouTubers in order to build and demonstrate video calling, text messaging and web browsing from giant smartphones literally in Minecraft.
The video you see at the head of this post comes from CaptainSparklez, one of the YouTubers that Verizon selected for this idea. His video is sponsored, and it’s absolutely a giant advertisement for Verizon, but it’s also pretty nifty.
As you’ll see in the clip, you can build a giant smartphone, erect a cell tower, browse the web on that phone and even make video calls to outside, real life phones.
