Apple reduces prices on older iPads while discontinuing others.

As part of today’s iPad Pro update, Apple has announced a few price drops for the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini while removing the original iPad Air, and iPad mini 3 from it's line up (discontinued). Moving forward, the Air 2 will be just $399 (16GB storage) while the iPad mini 4 will cost $269 (16GB storage).

The price drop carves out a clear category for the iPad Pro models as being the top tier in Apple’s lineup. Don’t need Apple Pencil capabilities? The iPad Air 2 is the device you should get. Or if you need an iPad for your kid, just get them the more affordable iPad mini.
