BOx is creating a connected bottle opener that will message your friends when it's beer thirty (UPDATE)

BOx is a new smart bottle opener that can send messages to your friends when you open a bottle. Users can share messages to groups of friends over Slack and Facebook Messenger. There's even a leaderboard with achievements and awards for unlocking higher levels that brings the phrase "Quick! Hold ma beer!" to a whole new level.

Now, you may be asking yourself, why would someone want to message their friends every time they open a beer? Maybe you want all your friends to know when it's beer thirty? Maybe the thought you and all your friends blowing up Facebook Messenger at exactly 5pm on a Friday is hilarious? Let's avoid the tough questions for now, the Kickstarter doesn't start until Friday. The only downside I see it the product might not ship to you before the end of summer.
