DISH HopperGo is a portable DVR you can take anywhere
DISH on Thursday introduced a new portable DVR that you can take with you anywhere. It sounds like a really cool device, particularly for families who haven’t quite jumped on the on-demand streaming wagon just yet.
The idea is simple: you buy this DISH HopperGO gadget for $99 and then sync it up with your Hopper 3 or Hopper 2 DVR at home. Its 64GB drive can store up to 100 hours of recorded TV shows and movies, DISH said. Then, when you’re on the road, you and up to four other people can access the content on the HopperGO using an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. It also works with Amazon Fire tablets. A single charge will provide up to 4 hours of entertainment, though you can also opt to just keep it plugged in.
It sounds like the perfect gadget for summer travels, particularly if you have a bunch of kids riding who need entertainment in the back of a minivan. DISH said the HopperGo can be purchased now from a retailer or through its direct phone line at 1-800-333-DISH.
