Verizon starts national trade in event today with up to $300 on your smartphone
Starting today, existing customers on Verizon or those looking to make the switch to Big Red can get up to $300 when they trade-in their existing smartphone. Better yet, even if your current smartphone has a cracked screen, Verizon will offer you a DROID Turbo 2 or DROID MAXX 2.
The way this event works is pretty straightforward on paper. Customers can activate a new line, upgrade an existing line, or switch to Verizon and sign up for a device payment plan. The quickest way to receive instant value for your gently-used smartphone is to visit a Verizon retailer. The credit you receive can be placed towards your new phone’s down payment, or can be redeemed as an account credit. Customers can also opt to receive the credit on a Verizon gift card.
Verizon currently lists the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, HTC 10, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, HTC 10, LG G5, Galaxy Note 5, DROID Turbo 2, and DROID MAXX 2 as part of the trade-in event, meaning these are the phones you will be allowed to choose from when making your purchase.
Verizon also notes that now is a good time to switch to their network, as they are offering $650 to buy out your existing smartphone payment plan, as well as your contract from another carrier.
