iPhone 7 to have a pressure sensitive home button and 7 Plus to have a dual camera system
Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone next month, with a design that's similar to the existing iPhone 6S models. While there have been plenty of rumors over the dual-camera system, redesigned antenna lines, and removal of the headphone jack, Bloomberg Newsreports that the next iPhone will also include a pressure-sensitive home button.
It's a change that was first rumored a couple of months ago, with images reportedly showing a flush button that appears to be capacitive. Bloomberg's reliable Mark Gurman notes that the new iPhones will have a button that "provides feedback to the user via a vibrating haptic sensation" instead of a physical click. Bloomberg reports that it's similar to the trackpads on the latest MacBooks.
Bloomberg also confirms that Apple plans to remove the headphone jack in its next iPhone, promoting Bluetooth and Lightning headphones instead. The removal will also reportedly allow Apple to introduce a second speaker in the iPhone, which will presumably improve the sound quality and volume of the iPhone's speaker system.
Bloomberg also reveals some additional details around the dual-camera system that's expected to debut with the larger iPhone 7. Both sensors will capture color differently and simultaneously take pictures that are then merged into a single photo. The end result is rumored to improve brightness and detail in photos, and sharpen photos taken in low-light scenarios. Apple's larger iPhone 7 is also expected to support better zoom thanks to the two camera sensors, but the smaller version of the iPhone 7 isn't expected to include the dual-camera system.
Apple has not yet announced a date for its next iPhone announcement, but it's widely expected that the company will hold an event in early September. Ming-chi Kuo, a well-connected analyst, reported earlier today that Apple is planning two new Apple Watch models for 2016. Both devices could also be announced at Apple's iPhone event next month.
Here is another leaked video from this weekend showing 3 different models:
