First look at iconic scene from live action 'Beauty and the Beast' with Emma Watson

Disney has just released our first look at Dan Stevens as the Beast and Emma Watson as Belle via Entertainment Weekly's latest cover. The shot recreates the ballroom dance scene from the animated movie, with Beast dressed in his blue regal clothing, and Belle in her flowing yellow ball gown.

While shots had leaked of Emma Watson in costume had leaked, this is the first fully realized image, complete with the ballroom backdrop and dreamy look in her eyes.

In the reveal, EW teased their cover feature, with quotes from Watson talking about the film, and the original that she loves.

"I can't even think how many times I watched it as a child. I knew all the words by heart. I knew all the songs by heart," Watson said.

The live-action Belle is wearing the dress as designed by costume designer Jacqueline Durran, who will be featured in the article, alongside director Bill Condon, Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, and Sir Ian McKellen.

The feature will also include information about the new songs by Alan Menken and Tim Rice, the original writers of the Beauty and the Beast musical numbers, and more from the set.

Beauty and the Beast is a tale as old as time, or at least twenty-five years, when Disney adapted the fairy tale during what many fans consider a golden age of Disney Animated Classics. The live-action interpretation is the latest in what is becoming at least a yearly series of films, following the immense success of The Jungle Book and last year's Cinderellalive-action remake. New versions of Mulan, The Lion King, and more are also on the way from the House of Mouse, as they reach back into their own magical wishing well for new looks at their famous features.

Expect many more images of Watson as Belle, as well as the other characters in their CG or costumed personas, over the coming days ahead of the cover story release in this week's magazine.

Beauty and the Beast hits theaters March 17, 2017.
