The new first trailer for Disney's live action Beauty and the Beast
Disney’s live-action retelling of Beauty and the Beast finally has a full trailer, and it promises everything we saw in the 1991 original, but on a far grander scale. Here, we see Belle’s father Maurice (Kevin Kline) waylaid by the Beast (Dan Stevens) at the latter’s castle. Belle (Emma Watson) gives herself up for Maurice’s sake, but soon learns that the Beast is far kinder than he appears. Meanwhile, Gaston (Luke Evans) is riling the townsfolk up in order to launch an attack on the castle.
Beauty and the Beast has been in production since 2014, with Watson stepping in for the titular role in early 2015. It’s one of many live-action Disney remakes, including Aladdin and Mulan, due to hit theaters in the coming years. We’ll see if this new take on an old tale hits the right notes when it debuts on March 17th, 2017.
