Ahead of Google’s planned July 24 event, @evleaks has revealed what Google’s new Nexus 7 tablet will look like. We’ve been expecting a second iteration for some time now—it’s not a secret by any means. But this puts the nail in the coffin. The design certainly looks sharper, and the image once and for all confirms Google is including a rear-facing camera.
According to a number of previous reports, the next Nexus 7 will sport 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 7-inch full HD display, wireless charging, Android 4.3 and the aforementioned 5-megapixel rear camera. We’ve also seen mentions of the upcoming tablet show up in a retailer’s inventory, so really all that’s left is for Google to make the device official. The BBY ad shows the "Google Nexus 7" with a $229.99 pricetag, "available Tuesday" (July 30) with a 1920x1200 display resolution. So yeah, here it comes looking all sorts of beautiful and matte an a still incredibly reason price.
All the rumored updates are expected from Google, so we can’t imagine the next Nexus 7 surprising in anyway. That doesn’t mean, however, we’re not anticipating its arrival. Even after all this time, the Nexus 7 has remained a solid option in the Android market, and we have no doubt Google’s successor—again manufactured by Asus—will be just as solid. We’ll find out in a matter of days.
