Ahead of its November 20 debut, Netflix has released the full trailer for its second Marvel series, Jessica Jones.
Up until now Netflix has been a bit coy about showing too much of its upcoming Jessica Jones series. We’ve seen an animated trailer, a few videos showing us what her day is like, but not much that tells us about the titular character or the evil she will face. Now we see that not only does she have super powers, she is also very tortured by her past, and in particular by a man known as Killgrave.
Comic fans will know this is The Purple Man, a villain that started off fighting Daredevil originally, but moved over to being a threat to Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in the early 2000s. We don’t see much of David Tennant in this trailer, but we do hear his voice, and he does sound like how I always imagined The Purple Man.
In the trailer they do mention that before this series Jessica Jones and The Purple Man did meet up before but as a comic book fan, I am wondering how they are going to tell that tale without using the Avengers. Time will tell but from the trailer, it looks like they are off to a great start.
All episodes of the first Jessica Jones season will hit Netflix on Nov. 20.
