One Plus 3 is available right now, no invites, for $399 off contract
The OnePlus 3 is now official, available starting today for $399. For that price, buyers get a device featuring a 5.5″ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM, and much more.
Other specifications for the OnePlus 3 include a 16MP rear-facing camera, 8MP front-facing camera, fingerprint reader on the bottom chin, an Alert Slider, Dash Charge, as well as a 3,000mAh built-in battery. Dash Charge, OnePlus’ take on fast charging, gives a user 60% battery on only 30 minutes of charge. OnePlus also heard the cries of many, including NFC on the OnePlus 3, too.
The device features most of the high-end features an Android user would hope for. It has a well-sized camera, is running the latest publicly available Android OS, comes with a fingerprint reader and USB Type-C port, but nothing makes the OnePlus 3 really unique from what else is already available. The minimal, aluminum design looks good, but could be quite slippery in-hand.
Speciality features include fingerprint reader, Dash Charge, and support for dual nano-SIMs, compatible with GSM carriers in the US like T-Mobile and AT&T, no Sprint or Verizon. Sadly, the device features no type of water resistance, so be careful around your pool. There is also no expandable storage with a microSD card. The OnePlus 3 comes in two colors, Graphite Grey and Gold, priced at $399 in the US.
Buyers can also throw in a protection plan from Assurant, starting at $20 for 12 months of additional protection. The most expensive protection plan is $80 for 24 months, covering your phone from drops, cracks, and other accidental damage.
As for shipping, the OnePlus site is doing much better at being transparent on ship times. Currently, if you order right now, the device will ship within 4 business days. For free, you can have your new OnePlus 3 by June 25. For Priority, you can have it by June 22. Priority costs an extra $10.
