Donald Glover of FX's 'Atlanta' and NBC's 'Community' will play the young Lando Calrissian in Holo Solo movie

Donald Glover has just been cast to play a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo movie coming out in 2018. The news confirms months of rumors linking Glover to the project, and now the artist will officially join Alden Ehrenreich, who was recently cast as Han, in the spin-off.

According to Lucasfilm, the movie, helmed byThe Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will depict Lando in his "formative years" as a young scoundrel in the galaxy's underworld. "We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us," said Lord and Miller in an official statement. "These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever."

Glover certainly has a lot on his plate right now. In addition to his new, critically-acclaimed show Atlanta, the actor-rapper will also appear in next year's Spider-Man: Homecoming in an undisclosed role. He's also expected to release his new album Pharos sometime in the near future. For now, just try to imagine Glover in that cape.
